Diabetes Community Care Ambassadors Research Program

This grant supports research to evaluate the feasibility and impact of a pilot program designed to improve the health of children with poorly controlled type 1 diabetes mellitus by extending the clinical care model into the home, school, and community. Participants receive both clinical and legal support through the use of non-medical personnel called Diabetes Community Care Ambassadors, as well as a medical-legal partnership attorney.  My role in this study involved teaching qualitative thematic analysis using Dedoose software and Crabtree/Miller framework, as well as developing and reviewing manuscripts for publication.
